PWR!Moves® is a Parkinson’s-specific, evidence-informed exercise approach designed to address movement changes associated with Parkinson’s disease, including bradykinesia, rigidity, incoordination, and reduced automaticity of movement.
In this seated class, participants learn the four Basic PWR!Moves® — PWR!Up, PWR!Rock, PWR!Twist, and PWR!Step — which target essential building blocks of everyday movement, including posture, weight shifting, trunk rotation, and transitions.
Once the movements are learned, we put them to music! Rhythm and familiar songs provide a fun and engaging way to practice high-effort, large-amplitude, purposeful movement while reinforcing the principles of PWR!Moves®.
The class is performed seated, with modifications provided so participants can work at their individual ability level.
